"I've been a fan of Funkadelic/Parliament for about 20 years but being from Europe, I never saw The Lion and The Mouse perform live. I was really looking forward to this show. I wasn't, however, expecting to have to wait almost 3 hours for the King to perform. My girlfriend and 2 other friends were exhausted by the time George started playing. Its Sunday! There were people all around me yawning and one gentleman behind me yelled "Oh damn!" when the second act (Catadelica?) started playing their 7th song. I think it's great that Clinton can sing for hours into the night, but I had to leave at 1AM because we were fading and we had this little thing called "work" Monday morning. We had to listen to two hours of opening bands followed by an additional 45min-hour delay before they performed. Even if this was a Saturday, I feel like the opening acts played for too long. Its Sunday! The energy was sucked out of the place. George ignited it again for a moment until some songs went on for 10 minutes and fatigue kicked in. I'm not saying the opening bands were bad, they were great musicians, but 2 hours?"
